Blue Light Filter Coating

 

 

For indoors, in low light or at night, these protective ophthalmic lenses are designed to reflect and cut high energy blue light penetration from electronic devices. This type of lens is referred to as a blue light filter. Thanks to blue light filter, the harmful portion of blue light is cut while allowing the good portion of blue light to pass through.

Photochromic

 

 

 

If you are sensitive to the sun, you should consider photochromic lenses. Photochromic lenses will change from clear lenses into dark-colored lenses when exposed to sunlight. These are great because you now will have the convenience of sunglasses and eyeglasses in one frame. Build-in UV protection.

Anti-Reflective Coating

 

This coating reduces the amount of reflection on the lenses, which increases the amount of light that can pass through the lens. With AR coating, you will find an increased quality of vision, especially during night-time driving, because of the decrease in glare caused by oncoming traffic. Your lenses will also appear thinner and transparent, improving your appearance by allowing people to see your eyes much clearer instead of reflections in your eyeglasses.

Transitions

 

 

Transitions ® lenses are the #1 eye care professional-recommended photochromic lenses worldwide.  These lenses will darken on exposure to sunlight. Once the light source is removed (for example by walking indoors), the lenses will gradually return to their clear state. They automatically adjust from clear to dark and every shade in between. Transitions block 100% harmful UV rays.

UV Coating

It is extremely important to protect yourself from the long-term damage of UV rays from sunlight. UV rays have been linked to the development of cataracts and even macular degeneration. 1 in 5 cataracts are due to UV exposure. UV coating will help block these harmful rays.  A lot of lenses already have a UV coating on them, so be sure to ask your eye care professional if UV coating is already included on your selected lenses.

Tint

 

 

 

Tint reduces light that enters the eye thus reducing eyestrain and improving visual comfort. Tint is inexpensive and can be applied to most lenses. Virtually any color, shade, or gradient can be applied to the lens:

  • Lighter shade for cosmetic purposes

  • Darker shade for sunglasses
